SAY NO AGAIN TO A $1.00 CIGARETTE TAX HIKE!

Earlier this month the legislature considered a proposal to increase the state cigarette excise tax by $1.00 to $1.91 per pack. Many adult consumers and business owners voiced their opposition and the proposal failed.

State Excise Tax on Little Cigars: 25% Manufacturer's Price
State Excise Tax on Large Cigars: 25%
Sales Tax on Cigarette Sales: $0.24

Excise Tax Collected (2008): $61,027,102
Master Settlement Agreement (MSA Payments 2007): $44,900,000
Cigarette Sales Tax Revenues (2008): $13,596,224.10
Total Revenue Collected (2008): $119,523,326.10
