Welcome to the Wisconsin Action Center!
Update:
During the 2011 legislative session, the House and Senate agreed that changing the way smokeless tobacco products were being taxed in Wisconsin was the right and fair thing to do. This change to a weight-based tax was approved by the legislature and included in the state budget (AB40).
Unfortunately, Governor Walker vetoed the weight-base tax out of the budget, putting an end to the legislature’s attempt to impose a fair and equitable method of taxing smokeless consumer products.
Thank you to all of those that took action and communicated your support on this issue to your elected officials.
